Parquet Consulting is guided by a strong belief in the power of objective assessment, facilitated team discussion, and strategic communications in developing growth plans that are both practical and effective. Our work focuses on helping clients reach the next level by ensuring that all members of the ownership and leadership team are on the same page and moving in the same direction to strengthen the culture and build great brands and results.
Since every client situation is unique, we do not ‘sell’ cookie-cutter solutions. Each assignment begins with an objective assessment of the company’s culture, concept, competitive positioning and current situation to identify key issues to be addressed. The assessment often includes identifying future leadership and organizational resource needs.
Why We’re Needed
Restaurant chains, hospitality companies and other business groups are under more pressure than ever before from increasing competition, escalating costs, constantly changing technology and talent needs. Owners and leadership teams rarely, if ever, can find time to step back from the day-to-day business to think through how to improve, how to grow, where they want to go long-term and the people and strategies needed to get there.
We’ve spent more than 30 years working within the national restaurant industry, which gives us valuable insights into the unique challenges growing restaurant companies face.
How We’ve Helped
Since 2001 we’ve successfully helped organizations ranging from small emerging brands to large national chains take an objective look at themselves and align around a plan to move forward. A few examples of our work include:
- Provide strategic planning and executive coaching support to owners, executives and managers at fast casual chain, supporting growth from 8 to more than 120 restaurants and a sale of the company. Helped develop company’s initial strategic plan, mission statement and core values, and board charter.
- Helped casual dining chain transition from public company to private equity ownership, managing communications and talent retention efforts while helping executive team develop successful brand repositioning strategy and initial business plan under new owners.
- Led employee surveys, groups and facilitated executive team discussions to develop or revise Vision, Mission & Core Values communications for various emerging and established restaurant chains.
- Served as outsource head of marketing and communications for sustained periods to help bring two national start-up organizations to market: a high-tech hospitality company; and, a non-profit focused on leadership development.
- Managed communications to all internal and external stakeholders during challenging turnaround situations at several national industry corporations.
